The multi-art performance gallery built in a staged home confuses the audience once again on September 2, 2023.
The festival offers visual and spoken art as well as music performances in the most mundane places. Previous themes for the concept art festival and total piece of art have been middle class family life, normality and the constructions of home and family. MULF hopes to ask social questions sometimes in an absurd way and in a private home milieu. And one must remember to take one’s Mooming mugs along!
This year’s theme is a quote from author Deborah Levy: ”Women on High Horse”. It has been supposed to suggest arrogance, or superiority, but it can also mean that the rider, a woman, has a sense of her own purpose of life and she gets on with the things she wanted to do in the world. Sometimes it’s called agency, like Levy describes in her book Real Estate.
This year’s specialty is the MULF Bus which takes the festival publicum from Oulu to Muhos and back (Route: Torinranta, Oulu–Hartikantie–Torinranta). The Bus leaves at 17:00 from Torinranta, Oulu (Kaarlenväylä bus stop) and returns to the same place after the festival. Return leaves from MULF at 23:00. Travel time app. 45 min. Performance artist Mari Kämäräinen will take care of the programme in the bus. We recommend buying the ticket including the festival pass and the transportation, in advance from Tiketti.fi. Specifics instructions can be found from the Ticket sales below.
