Johanna Nylund

Johanna Nylund is a finnish soprano located in Copenhagen.

This season brings a debut in her home country: Pamina at the Finnish National Opera. She will also sing Liù in Puccini’s Turandot at Alexander theatre, Helsinki. Johanna sings a wide range of concert repertoire. This season she will sing for example Fauré’s Requiem with Århus Symphony Orchestra, Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem and Orff’s Carmina Burana.

She has also been a soloist with Odense Symphony Orchestra, Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra, RDAM Symphny Orchestra, Helsinki philharmonic choir and Århus sinfonietta as well as different chamber ensembles and choirs with repertoire varying from church music to opera and new music.

Johanna has a Masters degree from The Royal Danish Academy of Music as well as from Stockholm University of the Arts’ Department of Opera (previously: Operahögskolan) She is graduating from the Soloist class of The Royal Danish Academy of Music this fall. Johanna is the recipient of the prestigious Barbro Salén scholarship 2022. She was also one of the Léonie Sonning talent prize recipients in 2022.
