{"id":3507,"date":"2026-06-05T11:30:51","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T08:30:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nocpok.fi\/ohjelmisto\/mulf-vi\/"},"modified":"2026-06-10T14:41:05","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T11:41:05","slug":"mulf-vi","status":"publish","type":"ohjelmisto","link":"https:\/\/nocpok.fi\/en\/productions\/mulf-vi\/","title":{"rendered":"MULF VI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The festival MULF, built around the Muhos environment, will be held for the sixth time on Friday 28.8.2026 from 6pm to11pm at the Nature Dream Days campsite in Montta, Muhos.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MULF \u2013 Muhos Lifestyle Festival brings social issues into focus through artistic means. In previous years, the conceptual total work of art has explored, among other themes, middle-class family life and ordinariness, roots, constructions of home and family, and destruction within the domestic sphere. MULF travels through the villages of Muhos, and this year it arrives in Montta.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MULF VI asks what water needs its power for and who else uses it. What remains of water\u2019s own power once it has been harnessed? We are unable to dismantle everything we have built, because we depend on it. How can we live with a limited reality and a fractured world?   <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The detailed program will be published in early August!<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The festival also celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Northern Opera Company. MULF VI is part of the Flow of Events weekend organized by the municipalities along the Oulujoki River, as well as Muhos Arts Night. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Artists<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artistic Directors \u2013 Mari K\u00e4m\u00e4r\u00e4inen &amp; Laura Heikkil\u00e4<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visual Identity \u2014 Mari K\u00e4m\u00e4r\u00e4inen &amp; Lauri Ahtinen<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Producer \u2013 Janna M\u00e4kel\u00e4<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Festival Director \u2013 Jenni Kinnunen<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In collaboration with \u2014 Municipality of Muhos, Oulujoki-Opisto &amp; Nature Dream Days<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Workshops<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MULF\u2019s Creature Factory and a book exhibition related to hydropower plants will spread to the Muhos Cultural Centre in August, where you can also splash into the stream and shape, record, or write a poem to the Oulujoki River for your own Creature!<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What does a Creature look like that lives in the waters and shores of the Stream of Stories? And what does it want to say, how does it sound? Does the Creature hear turbines grinding in its ears, or the ringing of clean water? Please dress according to the weather. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Arriving<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Free bus transportation to the event is available from Muhos town centre!<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MULF-busses<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Departure from Koivu ja t\u00e4hti Cultural Centre, Muhostie 2, Muhos<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5:30 PM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7:30 PM <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>9:30 PM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Koivu ja t\u00e4hti Cultural Centre, from where buses depart to the event site, is located near Muhos railway station. Muhos can be reached by train from both Kajaani and Oulu. Please check current timetables on the VR website. Bus services from Oulu can be found on the Oulu Region Transport website.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Principles of a safer space<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We kindly ask everyone who participates in the activities and events of the Northern Opera Company to respect and act in accordance with the principles for a safer space below.   <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Guidelines for shared comfort<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t assume. It is natural to make assumptions about other people, but we strive to be aware of our own presuppositions and we are open to different kinds of topics and people. We don\u2019t define experiences on behalf of anyone else and we don\u2019t generalize our own experiences to others. We don\u2019t make assumptions about anyone\u2019s sexuality, gender, nationality, religion, values, socioeconomic background, health, appearance or ability to function, but we respect everyone\u2019s right to self-determination.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t degrade. We don\u2019t degrade or embarrass anyone by their externals. We treat others as we would like to be treated.<br\/><br\/>Don\u2019t reproduce. We don\u2019t reproduce racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or ableist stereotypes in our speech, actions, or behavior. We strive to use language that doesn\u2019t exclude anyone.<br\/><br\/>Intervene. If we witness any offensive behavior, we will not remain silent, but we will intervene.<br\/><br\/>Respect. We respect other people\u2019s physical, mental, and emotional personal space. We remember that we cannot know the boundaries of one without asking from them and we don\u2019t touch the other without permission. If necessary, we ask for space for ourselves as well.<br\/><br\/>Give space. We make sure everyone has space to participate in the discussion and we treat sensitive topics with respect.<br\/><br\/>Give and receive feedback. Everyone is allowed to give appropriate and constructive feedback from inappropriate treatment. If someone gives you feedback on your actions, please listen to the feedback provider. We are open to the feedback we receive and we will take the feedback into account in our own activities in the future.   <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If you experience harassment or other inappropriate behaviour<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you experience an uncomfortable situation, please bring it up immediately by informing the festival staff, harassment contact persons, or the event organiser so that we can consider the best way to resolve the situation. The harassment contact person will be introduced at the event and can be identified by a blue Nocpok badge.
