Two experimental media work are combined in a projected installation at Aittokoski and Pälli hydropower plants
Ala-Utos is an experimental opera film by composer-musician Anna-Sofia Anttonen and dramatist-director Jenni Kinnunen . The no-singers-included piece was filmed and recorded in June 2024 at the Ala-Utos hydropower plant in Utajärvi, Finland. The soundtrack is built on the recorded sounds of the hydropower plant, and the images are a collage of documentary film material.
The visual album Liederkreis-Oulujärvi is a roadtrip inspired by German romanticism. The female trio traveled around the Oulu lake in 2023, and were filmed during their journey. The travel diaries, textual references and music by Robert Schumann combine into unique film by poet-dramatist Jenni Kinnunen, mezzo-soprano Annemari Moilanen and pianist Laura Heikkilä.
The duration of the double bill is ca. 45 min. Free entry
